Hi, my name is Joe Threat (CW04 USMC Ret), I reported to the RVN on WestPac
orders from 2nd Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (ANGLICO) at Camp Lejeune
in Dec 1969. I was a young Lance Corporal radioman and Forward Observer.

I was transferred to Radio Bn and 1st ANGLICO and ended up operating with
the Republic of Korea Marines and the 51st ARVN Bn calling air strikes, medevac,
artillery and gunship missions. I operated in the An Hoa, Hoi An, Goi Noi
Island Island areas.

After eight months in country I was medevaced to Japan and because of my
critical MOS, I was ordered back to Viet Nam to a mine sweep team with Alpha
Company, 7th Engineer Bn off of Hill 55.

I walked the mine sweep of Liberty Road across Liberty bridge to the OP
Tower at the T everyday for about 8 months. I departed Viet Nam in May of 1971
destroying essential equipment on our way out of country.

I had a lot of photos; but just lost two houses and a lot of photos in my
home in New Orleans. I will try to find a few.
