Mike
This veteran that needed assistance, does he still needs assistance. His predicament is simple to solve. It is a trick the VA uses to discourage Veterans. He does not need to get somebody that was there or somebody who can remember the incident. It happen to me and I told the VA NO WAY. I still won my case with backpay to 1994.
Mike, all he has to do is to get his Service Record Book (SRB) and his medical records when he was active in the Corps. His VSO should write and get both things. The VSO should know where to get his military record out of St. Louis. Every medical info should be in his medicial record. All he has to do is make a copy of the incident from his active medical record and submitted to the VA.
If he has anymore problem with the VA, have him contact me and I will help him get his PTSD and much more. It is very obivous that he is service connected and that is all that its takes.
I have beaten the VA twice for a total amount of a little over $100,000,00. Send him my way and I will help him. Him or any Veteran that needs help.

Robert
He should be getting paid by the VA for PTSD, and other illnesses from the VA.

Mike,
I didn't get to Vietnam till Sept 66 and never heard of this incident. Maybe some of our earlier arrivals do. . .

Happy New Year everyone!
One of our Marine Brothers needs our help.
Steve Duncan is a Marine Engineer who served on active duty 1962-1966 as an 1141, electrician.
He is fighting PTSD with the assistance of the Drs, but needs to hear from any Marines that have insight into a specific incident that occurred as he describes below.
The incident I need conformation on , happened in early 66, at I think the 2/9 waterpoint near a river, I was 3rd Eng,Support Bn.Maint Co. Utilities Plt, 5 of us were sent to set up a water point for 2/9 ,they had been up for days from harrasment from the VC,so they were told to stand down and git some rest, the Army was to be our perimiter guard, the next thing I remember is waking up with sandbags all over me,which is what saved myself and one other Marine, the VC had lobbed grenades in knocking the two of us out, they came thru grabbing our weapons and bayoneting all they found,I looked over as they ran across the river, and one of my best friends was on the M-60 his hand was locked on and firing, but the top of his head was gone, the 60 was travising back and forth from recoil,Myself and one other came out alieve, and he had a grenade fragment across his head,My problem,I have no memories of any of the names,or the date,I tried to explain to the VA,that
being in Eng. Utilities Plt,we only lost those three men in my time over there, and should not be hard to find, the names and dates ,but they refuse to try and help find the info, and I have no idea where to find any from my unit to back it up,and I remember none of my friends from then,I just blacked all of that out,But Ive found lately that the only thing I dont remember are names and dates, until I looked at my DD214,I had my dates over there wrong, since June of 05 when I had a large Maleria attack,I havent slept past 0300 and still dont, the Dr said that's probably when we got hit,and my mind wont let me forgit, anyway,if any of the members were in my unit, and could verify the incident it would help considerable, Again Thank you. Steve Duncan
Ive included Steves email address as a CC, so if anyone has any personal information about this incident or recommendations for Steve, please send it direct to his email address.
Thanks for whatever assistance you can provide.
